Google Play NewsStand App Name Changed To “Google News” [Read Details]

It was generally announced to all android device users running the Google Play Newsstand app on their device that the application’s name has been changed to Google News which comes with new services and it has taken effect as from today Aug 1 2018.

If you have been a good user of the app and has enjoyed the service it renders then you will like to have a newer version of it on your device.

The Google team sent a mail to all users about an hour ago so as to let it be known to all those interested in updating the News application.

Below are the new qualities and uses added to the newly upgraded app;

* Brings together Google Play Newsstand and Google News & Weather into a single experience.

* Includes your saved topics and existing magazine and news subscriptions on the ‘Favorites’ tab. You do not need to follow or subscribe to them again.

* Includes a ‘Headlines’ tab that shows you an unpersonalized view of the top stories of the day.

If you will need to upgrade to the newer version then you will need to logon to your Google Playstore app which comes with your android device, click the update button on the app if you are already running the older version or instead search for “Google News” then click the download button.
